(Sea Scout) Group
Founded in 1952, the 1st Standlake & Cokethorpe Sea Scout group is based in Standlake, West Oxon near the River Thames. We have three sections, taking boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14. We are also home to the West Oxfordshire Sea Explorer Scout Unit.
The group is one of only 105 Sea Scout groups recognised by the Royal Navy and run water activities throughout the summer. We have a variety of water activities to offer including kayaking, canoeing, sailing, and raft building! We run the activities at our local sailing club... More>>
Our Scout Group Necker
Each Scout Group worldwide has its own necker colours, these become the colours of the Scout Group. Scouts are rightly proud of their neckers and the group history and traditions they represent.
Beaver Scouts
6 to 8 Years old.
Beavers operate from Cokethorpe School and entry to Cubs is guaranteed for our beavers. For many, Beavers is the start of a lifelong journey within Scouting and our group. More Information
Cub Scouts
8 to 10 Years old.
Cub Scouts is land based and runs from Standlake Village Hall. We share as many of our Sea Scout Troops's traditions as we can and meet the on the water when able. More Information
Sea Scouts
10 to 14 Years old.
We are a Royal Navy Recognised Sea Scout Troop (RN98) and we spend as much time on the water as we can! More Information
Explorer Scouts
14 to 18 Years old.
Our group hosts the West Oxfordshire Sea Explorer Scout Unit (WOSESU) they are fully integrated into our Sea Scouting programme and share our uniform and Royal Navy Recognition. More Information
Young Leaders
14 to 18 Years old.

Royal Navy Recognised Group Number 98
There are 105 Sea Scout Groups in the United Kingdom and one group in Gibraltar who are affiliated to the Royal Navy in order to foster a close relationship between the Royal Navy and young people in the Scout Association by making naval facilities and equipment accessible. It is seen as a mark of great honour by the Groups holding RN Recognition. We are proud to be Recognised by the Royal Navy as group number 98.
