Partnership with Cokethorpe School
1st Standlake and Cokethorpe Sea Scouts use Cokethorpe School as their Head Quarters and run weekly activities and summer camps within the school grounds.
1st Standlake and Cokethorpe Sea Scouts have a thriving membership and a waiting list. We hold our Beaver, Scouts and Explorer weekly meetings at Cokethorpe where a wide range of activities can be delivered on-site. Set in over 150 acres of parkland, only a few miles north of Standlake village, Cokethorpe School offers the Scouts an ideal base at no cost.
The Scout troop is comprised of boys and girls aged 10 1/2 years and up from the surrounding area and is considered a valuable resource for young people in the wider community.
We identified Cokethorpe as a perfect setting for our meetings many years ago. We are a Royal Navy recognised Sea Scout group that contributes to the positive development of young people in the local area, making us a perfect partner for Cokethorpe School to support.
The Scouts use a wide range of facilities within the school grounds including a hall for activities, astroturf pitches, parkland, woods and outdoor learning areas.
We meet at Cokethorpe once a week and hold camps in the grounds and at their Outdoor Education Centre in the summer.
Many of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers attend local village state schools and a number also attend Cokethorpe Prep and Senior School.Â
