Help at CPCW?

posted 30 Aug 2013, 08:48 by Sam Scott   [ updated 30 Aug 2013, 08:49 ]

We are looking for some Explorer Scouts to help at this year’s CPCW which runs from 4 to 6 October at Horley.

CPCW is a County organised camp for Scouts who come along and camp as patrols without their leaders.  They camp in groups of around 8 patrols on sub-camps called Zones, cooking on open fires for the weekend.  The event is about giving them some leadership opportunity, improving their camping skills and having fun with the wide range of activities that are available throughout the weekend.

Over the past few years we have been asking Explorer Scouts to join the leadership team at the event.  This isn’t something for the whole unit to attend, but if there are some members that want to help that’s great.  We only ask for a small contribution towards food, otherwise the weekend is free.
